About the Role

The Supply Chain (SC) organizational model includes materials management specialists supporting Utility Operations and Construction. This intermediate-level position is responsible for all inbound and outbound material requests, controlling daily workload within Command (WMS), reviewing Material Requests (MRs), completing or backordering requests, and overseeing backorder MRs. The role supports warehousing functions related to EDC operations, including cycle counting, and interfaces with Warehousing, Inventory, Logistics, Inventory Management, Category Management, Central Procurement Group (CPG), and Compliance teams.

The specialist ensures materials are processed cost-effectively and efficiently while adhering to Entergy’s policies, procedures, and core values. The role requires an understanding of operational, contractual, and safety risks and collaboration with other SC departments to optimize demand planning.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and ensure safety as a top priority, including monitoring supplier safety concerns and fostering a safe work environment.
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS) or the nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO). Serve as Supply Chain Site Material Supply Lead for Utility Operations situations.
  • Analyze, edit, and schedule jobs for warehouse staff; communicate material shortages to customers.
  • Provide customer interface for T&D storekeepers, managers, engineers, EAs, and OCs; resolve material issues with warehouse and Purchasing & Inventory Management staff.
  • Provide backup support for other EDC positions; troubleshoot material issues in warehouse processes.
  • Monitor daily cycle counts in the warehouse; assist in managing EDC transportation and equipment utilization/maintenance logs.
  • Monitor quality control of EDC processes; coordinate critical storm material needs for the field.
  • Deliver and document savings through inventory optimization, material transfers, service level commitments, and cost avoidance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, savings, diversity, document retention, cycle counting, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers based on ethical business practices.
  • Maintain open communications between suppliers, stakeholders, and SC teams to ensure accurate and timely information flow.

Requirements

Materials Management Specialist, II: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or a related discipline OR 4 years of experience in material handling, warehousing, inventory, logistics, material planning, purchasing, or related supply chain roles.

Materials Management Specialist, Sr: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or a related discipline and 5+ years of combined experience in material purchasing, supplier contracting, vendor management, or related supply chain roles OR 7+ years of relevant experience without a degree.

Highly Preferred: 3+ years of energy industry supply chain experience.

Skills

  • Awareness of customers’ key business drivers, objectives, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in IBM Maximo, CAMBAR, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve material issues with minimal guidance.
  • Strong communication skills for direct customer interactions on materials management matters.
  • Understanding of materials processes, including shipping, receiving, picking, and inventory control.
  • Sound, fact-based decision-making ability.
  • Working knowledge of Distribution/Transmission information systems and Entergy’s procurement/payment guidelines.
  • Familiarity with demand planning, market conditions, supplier diversity, governance, and delegations of authority.
  • Understanding of Entergy’s end-to-end warehousing, inventory, and logistics processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deliver on schedule.
  • Basic analytical skills and awareness of data sources for fact-based decisions.
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication with stakeholders.
  • Conflict resolution skills without damaging relationships.
  • Ability to build relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.

Authorization to work in the United States is required; Entergy will not sponsor work visas for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
