Responsibilities
- Functions as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Manages the total inventory of the dialysis unit, including purchasing and storage of supplies needed for day-to-day operations, while adhering to budget constraints.
- Ensures dialysis vehicles are maintained and safe for staff and patients.
- Drives the culture through values and customer service standards.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships through timely communications.
- Takes initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues.
- Assists healthcare team members in providing a safe, clean environment for dialysis treatments.
- Works independently with provided information and takes pride in work.
- Performs weekly inventory of all supplies in storage rooms and treatment floors using a standardized form for both Macy and Walthill locations.
- Follows deadlines for inventory completion and presents findings to the Unit Manager for review prior to placing orders.
- Separates and delivers received orders to the proper unit and puts them away.
- Manages information using appropriate manual or electronic systems.
- Maintains and updates necessary records and reports while ensuring confidentiality.
- Communicates appropriately with unit personnel, patients, and family.
- Completes assigned monthly reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Actively participates in unit staff meetings and in-services.
- Establishes a system for vehicle mileage logs review.
- Schedules needed maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
- Ensures vehicles are cleaned and in good working order.
- Coordinates transportation needs of patients with unit staff.
- Provides transportation of patients as needed.
- Follows routine maintenance of facility vehicles.
- Performs additional duties as assigned and reports significant information to the Unit Manager.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. with proper body support.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Computer knowledge is required.
- Successful completion of CPR Healthcare recognition.
- Understanding of potentially hazardous/infectious materials and compliance with safety regulations/requirements of the Dialysis Unit.
- Able to be insured on government insurance, possess a valid driver's license, and have no driving offenses.
- Must pass background check, physical, and pre-employment drug screen.
