Materials Inspector - Jackson (ABET/Non-ABET)

Responsibilities

Samples and tests general construction and maintenance materials to ensure they comply with specifications.

Affirms or rejects material for intended use.

Prepares samples for bituminous trial mixes.

Coordinates with contractors on trial mix information.

Performs duties of inspector in charge at plants producing bituminous mixtures.

Inspects prestressed or precast concrete and performs special sampling and testing of materials required on federal aid projects.

Requirements

• Non-ABET Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR 8 years of experience in materials or construction inspection, or related field.
• ABET Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum OR 8 years of experience in materials or construction inspection, or related field.
• Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days.

• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Pay

• Entry salary: $52,511.52
• Intermediate salary: $56,712.48
• Senior salary: $61,249.44
