Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to all requests for supplies and equipment.
- Serves as the initial contact for all departmental inquiries from customers.
- Performs the above-described position using Workday.
- This includes picking, delivering, issuing, receiving, inventorying and stocking using Workday to perform appropriate transactions on the desktop or on handheld terminals (Zebra Handheld Computers).
- Maintains high quality customer service, both over the phone and in person, using excellent communication skills with a courteous and professional customer service-oriented attitude at all times.
- Reports urgent or emergency stock shortages to Inventory Control Analyst or direct Supervisor.
- Inspects Code Carts (aka: E-carts, Emergency carts, Crash carts) to ensure that each cart and all accessories are functional and in good order.
- Maintains accurate inventory stock in Code Carts in accordance with the code drawer inventory lists to support the Hospital’s Code Cart Exchange Program per Hospital Code Team Policy (Policy IV.053).
- Maintains accurate inventory stock in Code Stretcher Luggage/Bags, and EZIO Kits in precise accordance with the applicable inventory lists per Hospital Code Team Policy (Policy IV.053).
- Collaborates with other SPD and Nursing personnel to locate and obtain required centralized equipment and/or supplies whenever the house inventory has been depleted.
- Prints and affixes patient charge labels where applicable to ensure that all charge items issued are appropriately labeled.
- Functions as the resource person for training new Materials Handling Attendants on the use of the handhelds.
- Functions as a resource person for inventory and stocking problems for all areas.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new employees.
- Receives and distributes full-service forms throughout the hospital.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to stand, walk and handle materials for prolong periods of time.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and pushing loaded carts weighting in excess of 600 pounds.
- Must possess visual and oral acuity.
Working Environment
