Materials Handler I

Primary Duties

  • Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards
  • Receive, quantify, and store incoming material with warehouse equipment from various delivery sources
  • Maintain inventory levels and suggest new orders when needed
  • Document orders, materials, and any stock movements
  • Break down, clean, organize, and prep raw material ready for manufacturing in accordance with procedure and production requirements
  • Perform real time daily replenishment of material in a “Just in Time” manner to support internal customers
  • Process all deliveries to ensure material transactions occur for all departmental activities
  • Aid in the identification and movement of non-conforming material
  • Follow all general OSHA Safety Guidelines for warehouses
  • Perform related transactions, bin maintenance, and maintain shelving for the stocking of material

Qualifications, Preferred Education, Training & Experience

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • No previous experience required, some experience preferred
  • Materials handling experience within the medical device industry, including working with the FD regarding control of materials for instruments and chemistry, preferred
  • Forklift cerficiation preferred

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged periods
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
  • Must be able to work in warehouse conditions with long periods of standing, climbing, bending, walking, and reaching in wide temperature ranges
  • High level of repetitive motion
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment
  • Overtime may be required
  • The work is fast paced and must be able to work under pressure

Pay

The pay for this role starts at $18.00 an hour. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program.
