Materials Engineering LabTechnician In Training

About the role

The Materials Engineering LabTechnician In Training will perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. They will communicate with various stakeholders including the project manager, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors' representatives regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.

Responsibilities

• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Aid in scheduling and dispatching Technicians to project sites.
• Under close supervision, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss the accuracy of data in preparation for submission.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
• Maintain assigned equipment.
• Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
• Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Ensure quality standards on all projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history
