Materials Engineer II

24-month contract role located in Mounds View, MN with potential for extension. W2 contract; no PTO or traditional benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to optimize materials for engineering design and application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
• Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, nonmetallic, and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication, and assembly processes.
• Develop, analyze, and apply material properties, design allowables, processing processes, and quality engineering specifications.
• Perform material analyses including failure analysis of components, systems, and subsystems; life predictions; and definition of requirement specifications.
• Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Electrochemistry.
• Understanding of materials and their interactions with the body and environment, with ability to correlate material properties with product performance to predict various failure modes.
• Lab work experience.

Skills

• Deep knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (nice to have).
• Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, gas chromatography (GC), PCR, and spectrophotometry (nice to have).
• Knowledge and experience of Materials Characterization Techniques (nice to have).

Pay

$40.00 - $50.00/hour
