Materials Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform reverse engineering on non-production parts in order to develop production specifications and Quality Test Procedures, as well as Parts Manufacturing Authority reports for the FAA.
• Conduct Research and Development Analysis of materials to assist with Business Unit’s New Product Development Process.
• Provide Technical support to customers, laboratory staff when needed.
• Assist on materials analysis process for production parts to ensure conformity to specifications (grain size and flow, abusive machining, hardness, chemistry, etc.) when needed.
• Assist with development and write-up of Quality Test Procedures detailing required preparation and testing of incoming materials when needed.
• Keep current with the latest in materials analysis techniques and equipment technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience with composite materials or specializing in one type of material, such as graphite, metal and metal alloys, ceramics and glass, plastics and polymers, and naturally occurring materials.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
