Role Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for the shipping and receiving of all inventory, picking and delivery of material to production floor, as well as performing inventory counts to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve materials from Distribution Center and receive into inventory
  • Inventory control, including cycle counts and inventory adjustments in the business system
  • Prepare and ship materials, including building crates, scheduling shipments, and requesting shipping quotes
  • Accurately pick production material via Material pick lists
  • Operate forklift and pallet trucks to lift and transport material
  • General shop maintenance/housekeeping
  • Assist Relay Panel Assemblers with assembling and wiring devices in accordance with work instructions, physical drawings and point-to-point wiring diagrams, as needed
  • Monitor and replenish shop consumable materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Work Experience: 1 year of experience in shipping/receiving and inventory control
  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; data entry into receiving systems
  • Organization Skills: Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Driver's license: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to see/sit/stand/walk/talk and hear
  • Ability to lift/move/carry up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
  • Ability to climb stairs and step ladders, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to temperature conditions and noise levels prevalent in a production environment
  • The employee is also exposed to noise levels / temperature conditions prevalent in a distribution center
  • Ability to work some overtime if required
  • Occasionally travel to and work at customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience in inventory control
  • Previous delivery experience using company van and/or box or flat bed truck
  • Previous training in use of forklift or hand truck
  • Fed Ex and UPS shipping/receiving experience
