Materials Buyer (Temp to Perm)

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, and supplies in accordance with company requirements.
• Evaluating supplier quotes, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Issuing and managing purchase orders and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with production, planning, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Tracking supplier performance, including quality, pricing, and delivery reliability.
• Resolving supply chain issues such as shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
• Analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintaining up-to-date records of suppliers, pricing, and contracts.
• Collaborating with internal departments to forecast material needs and ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procurement standards, and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial purchasing environments.
• Knowledge of inventory management and demand planning processes.
• Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS is a plus.
