About the role

The Temp Buyer will provide sourcing assistance and pricing analysis on components to support the Corona operation. This role involves rationalizing and negotiating supplier pricing structures through knowledge of product propositions and utilization of pricing levers such as annual quantities and commodity pricing to achieve the best pricing for Fender while preserving quality integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Place demand-driven Purchase Orders and expedite purchased parts delivery to meet production line requirements.
  • Manage Open Purchase Orders to ensure suppliers deliver according to confirmed lead times.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain) to locate and recommend prudent suppliers based on new product requirements.
  • Develop and implement analysis to support and communicate forecasts of parts driven by production orders.
  • Provide analytical support for sourcing activities, including spend analysis, feasibility analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and process analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple suppliers, identify downstream risks, reconcile conflicts, provide root-cause analysis, and decompose high-level information into details.
  • Use forecasting models and communicate deviations from forecasted demand to suppliers.
  • Organize and prioritize information gathered during new product development, analyze rapidly changing data, and meet deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration with 2 years of experience in Purchasing or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Preferred procurement experience in fast-paced retail manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of project management concepts.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate supplier information, assess risks, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with forecasting models and communicating demand deviations to suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage rapidly changing information and prioritize deadlines.
  • Proficiency with SAP or another leading ERP system.
  • Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $61,480.00 to $69,960 per year. The range reflects factors such as skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. For remote positions, the pay scale may be adjusted based on geographic location.
