About the role
Orders, tracks, stocks, audits, and delivers materials and equipment throughout the hospital. Performs MMIS receiving transactions using both handheld/iPad and desktop applications.
Responsibilities
- Completes replenishment of par locations through par replenishment methods including picking orders, gathering/filling empty bins.
- Requisitions commodity / central store supplies.
- Participates in stock put away, breaking down cardboard and maintaining a cleanly environment.
- Follows up on order issues, including miss picks, shortages and obtains substitute products when required.
- Pulls procedure carts / pick sheets to prepare for surgeries.
- Addresses incoming/outgoing communications to internal customers.
- Affixes labels to supplies and participates in physical inventory.
- Assists in supply chain projects and initiatives including the building of carts, labelling supplies, participating in physical inventory, and setting up or reorganizing inventory locations.
- Achieves quality and safety expectations including auditing inventory locations for regulatory compliance such as cleanliness, organization, expired supplies, ceiling heights and supplies put away in the correct locations.
- Cleans/disinfects equipment and specialized carts for deployment throughout the hospital.
- May operate motorized pallet jacks.
- Might be cross-trained in other materials management functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Inventory management experience preferred.
- Some computer experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical supplies or previous stock room experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment.
