Materials Associate I
Position Scope
The Materials Associate I is responsible for shipping and receiving activities that include storage and transport of materials from suppliers, vendors, and third-party warehouses to production areas. Responsibilities include loading and unloading delivery vehicles, assembling stock onto pallets, racks, bins, shelves, refrigerators, and freezers, opening cartons, bundles, and other containers, storing, transferring, and distributing material in accordance with specific material requirements, maintaining LN2 and CO2 systems, assisting with data entry of In-Transit requests, maintaining inventory control in ERP system, performing routine inventory cycle counts, participating in scheduled annual physical inventory activities, assisting with Surgeon Training Kits order requests, preparing Vericel Biopsy Kit assemblies, performing Biopsy Accessioning activities, assisting with inventory sales order fulfillment, and end of day closing activities. Additional activities as required to support manufacturing operation demands.
Qualifications
- GED, High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 years of experience working in a cGMP environment in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to comply with regulatory compliance within Vericel.
- Experience in high volume and fast-paced materials and manufacturing support environment.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
- Organizational planning skills and the ability to collaborate with others in a team environment.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Knowledge of ERP inventory system.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- May be required to work in classified and controlled areas such as clean room environment wearing special garments.
- Additionally, personal protective equipment must be worn due to safety requirements.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing physical duties.
- May be required to lift, push or pull up to 40 lbs.
- Must operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and work overtime as required to meet production demands.
Pay Range
The hourly wage range Vericel reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting is $19.00 to $24.00 per hour. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. Bonus, incentive pay, equity, and benefits may be provided in addition to the base compensation listed above.
