Materials Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical, analytical, experimental, and investigative research to support scientific and technological advancements.
  • Design, execute, and document experiments to evaluate new materials, products, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, protocols, summaries, and quantitative analyses of research findings.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to provide recommendations and support business decisions.
  • Identify, assess, and develop new scientific concepts, technologies, and process improvements with potential business impact.
  • Collaborate with business, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to define process technology direction and research priorities.
  • Support the development of improved product quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes, and new product or business opportunities.
  • Contribute to research efforts that may result in patent disclosures, technical publications, or scientific advancements.
  • Apply curiosity, creativity, and technical expertise to solve well-defined and moderately complex technical problems.
  • Participate in multiple projects simultaneously, delivering accurate, high-quality data and presenting results to stakeholders.
  • Lead technical sub-teams and contribute to defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced professionals.
  • Build and maintain technical networks while gaining exposure to customers and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all research and development activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline required.
  • Demonstrated technical competency within a specialized technology area.
  • Developing expertise as a technical subject matter expert (SME) and/or product SME.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings.
  • Prominent ability to collaborate across functions and contribute to project teams.
