Location: Broomfield, CO

Responsibilities

  • Work between scientists, engineers, material management, and technicians to select materials and processes based on mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
  • Participate in troubleshooting process issues, including root cause analysis.
  • Help document material specifications, process parameters, and test results.
  • Evaluate materials for approval in applications to support production.
  • Assist in developing processes that support bill-of-material creation and change management.
  • Review designs for material and process failure modes.
  • Research and evaluate new and existing processes, operations, and support systems for adaptation and/or improvements needed to manufacture the quantum computer.
  • Perform material characterization of systems in Quantinuum labs and partner with academic and national lab institutions to gather relevant supporting data for materials-related non-conformances and selections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum).
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as: U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience manufacturing hardware as part of projects, internships, clubs, or hobbies.
  • Willingness for hands-on work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuing enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship.
  • Basic understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with lab equipment and testing methods (SEM, FTIR, optical microscopy, DMM, CMM).
  • CAD Experience.
  • Experience in system engineering, physics, lasers & optics, electrical engineering, or closely allied fields.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Individuals who are results-oriented and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done despite competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher).

Pay

The pay range for this role is $76,000 - $95,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
