About the role

The Materials Analyst role provides high visibility and an opportunity to employ critical thinking in a fast-paced, highly automated environment. You will deploy inventory strategies, manage supply and constraints, and report status to meet customer and production demands.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers and suppliers regarding customer and production demands
  • Analyze customer releases using customer and Linamar systems
  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules and material requirements
  • Ensure on-time deliveries to customers and effectively use resources
  • Work closely with Production Management to optimize resource use
  • Communicate effectively with Customer Service coordinator on delays affecting on-time delivery
  • Order materials from suppliers
  • Determine type and quantity of materials and components required to maintain production schedules
  • Work with suppliers to meet supply needs
  • Optimize min/max inventory levels of finished, WIP, and raw materials
  • Escalate material availability issues to the Materials Manager or corporate buyer
  • Develop recovery and contingency plans to support customer requirements
  • Perform inventory cycle counts with focus on root cause analysis of inventory deviations
  • Assist in physical inventory
  • Review engineering changes and provide effective date / change timing recommendations
  • Participate in APQP activities for new programs
  • Supervise administrative assistance
  • Manage warehouse planning and implementation
  • Handle Dunnage Management
  • Proxy to Material Planner
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 1-3 years materials/production control experience
  • ERP experience required, PLEX or IFS experience preferred
  • Experience in working with MRP and other inventory systems

Skills

  • Competent in working with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
