Materials Analyst

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in data auditing for accuracy and creation of summary reports and visuals based on data inspections.
• Proposes recommendations to management based on data analysis.
• Collects and evaluates diverse data types, preparing reports from various sources, including customer and staff metrics.
• Maintains or creates databases to support data collection efforts.
• Solves data integrity issues and proactively identifies potential metric-related issues.
• Suggests process improvements for metric tracking and monitors financial performance of materials, taking corrective actions when necessary.
• Supports inventory control, supply chain management, and material planning.
• Develops commodity spend profiles, pricing evaluation tools, and conducts detailed evaluations of bills of materials.
• Conducts reporting and inspections for supplier score carding and validates site pricing with established processes.
• Aids in supply chain transfer, risk management for new product introductions (NPI), and manages data evaluation tools.
• Functions as the primary point of contact between the planning team and buyers, providing status updates on critical shortages and serving as an expeditor for gating items.
• Acts as the first point of escalation for materials-related issues for suppliers and internal customers, buyers, and kits from other CMs (kits for TRI).
• Assumes backup responsibilities for the purchasing manager, creating all reports, resolving invoices, executing orders, and following up on open purchase orders (OPOR) for local suppliers, among other tasks, during the absence of the default buyer and addressing escalations from the Demand Business System (DBS).

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Preferably 5+ years of experience in materials or a related field.
• A background in electronics manufacturing is desirable.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
• Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
• Power BI is considered advantageous.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is typically full-time, Monday through Friday, with standard business hours.
