About the Role
American Woodmark in Cumberland, MD is seeking a Material Stocker to handle and transfer materials using industrial equipment. This role is essential for maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring materials are stocked correctly.
Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret pallet paperwork and labels
- Maintain familiarity with plant layout and stock locations
- Safely use a pallet jack to perform various tasks
- Enter plant receipt reports into a computerized database
- Receive and stock materials in correct locations
- Identify all cabinet parts, components, and stock locations
- Identify and process damaged or flawed material instead of stocking it
- Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variances
- Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Working Conditions
- Indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
- Protective safety gear required, including safety glasses and gloves
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
