About the role

As a Sr. Material Program Manager (MPM), you will oversee NPI material planning and program management. Using advanced planning capability, material risk assessment, and lead-time profiling, you will support new products and customer accounts. You will collaborate closely with Business, Product Management, Production, and Planning teams on new program releases and design changes during the new product introduction stage.

The ideal candidate will manage and review material order placement, ensure material availability to support production, be responsible for material cost management, and manage inventory to avoid excess. This role reports to the Sr. Managerial Management Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MPM performance covering material planning, forecasting, and readiness to support existing and new NPI customer accounts and new product development.
  • Lead materials budget planning and spend management through partnering with Finance and Business/Product Management.
  • Propose optimized supply planning to ensure on-time build schedules.
  • Drive closure of materials issues and take initiative in minimizing total supply chain cost while maximizing effectiveness, including conforming to quality standards and controlling inventory flow.
  • Participate in and drive daily or weekly materials readiness meetings with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Conduct process analysis, identify and recommend improvement opportunities, and create proposals for executive management review and approval.
  • Manage and monitor supply chain KPIs, identifying and addressing opportunities and risks.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Take a leadership role in project teams driving critical initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field or business is required; MBA and APICS certification are a plus.
  • 5+ years of material management, supplier management, and customer support experience, including at least one year in a supervisory position.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Mandarin is a plus.

Skills

  • Familiarity with business and operation models such as OEM, ODM, JDM, and others.
  • Knowledge of the electronic contract manufacturing environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills and capable of troubleshooting large data integrity and error finding using Excel tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management with familiarity of tools and methods for coping with dynamic business conditions.
  • Adequate knowledge of US customs and import/export regulations to assist in solving issues and handling inquiries.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills among peers.
  • Strong financial experience and independent judgment.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English.
