Material Process Engineer

About the role

Rocketdyne is seeking a skilled Material Process Engineer with a strong background in materials and processes engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exposure to the aerospace industry as well as a materials engineering background. This role has both program facing and lab responsibilities. The role will report up within the materials engineering group and be based in Jupiter, FL.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical manufacturing support across a variety of aerospace components with experience on non-metallics and metallics
• Perform lab evaluations of metallurgical specimens leveraging tools such as optical and electron microscopy
• Update and enhance materials specifications and other program requirements
• Interface with the internal manufacturing team to support processing on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 to 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Skills

• Strong communication skills and experience delivering reports to internal and external customers
• Exposure to a variety of materials characterization techniques
• Exposure to chemical or industrial environments and appropriate safety practices
• Project management
