Responsibilities
- Cook up material requirements planning (MRP) to sync with production schedules and customer demand.
- Keep an eye on the flow of materials through the supply chain, making sure they're available for manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Receiving, and Stockroom to solve material problems and help meet schedules.
- Check bills of material (BOMs) for structure, accuracy, and planning parameters; suggest changes if necessary.
- Track shortages and excess materials, working with Purchasing to speed up orders or avoid risks.
- Watch supplier delivery dates and work with the procurement team to fix delays.
- Handle new contracts and projects by overseeing material readiness and planning activities.
- Give regular updates on material status, shortages, and risks to internal stakeholders.
- Analyze demand and historical usage trends to boost forecasting accuracy and lessen shortages and excess.
- Achieve compliance with company procedures, program priorities, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in supply chain, materials, or production planning; or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production support environment is required.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Infor LN, Oracle, or equivalent) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to analyze demand data, forecasts, and material reports to make planning decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing material shortages.
- Knowledge of electronic components, high-reliability (hi-rel) parts, and related supply chain processes is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and program stakeholders.
