About the role
Radiodetection is a division of SPX Technologies, a global company that designs and develops equipment and software for utility companies to manage underground infrastructure. The Material Planner position is within this division.
Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and procedures and ensure a “safety first” culture in every task undertaken.
- Plans and prepares material schedules for manufacture of military or commercial products.
- Establishes sequence and lead time of each material to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
- Analyzes material shortages and requirements from MRP system.
- Affords assistance with inventory management and cycle counting.
- Coordinates delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
- Coordinates/expedite material to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Completes status reports, such as materials inventory.
- Affords assistance in correcting inventory as required.
- Organizes subcontracted material to the vendor.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
- In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years planning experience in a related industry.
- Good communications skills.
