Material Planner (52270)

About the role

The Material Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. This includes monitoring and reviewing parts usage and requirements, coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Purchasing, Production, and Manufacturing departments, tracking and monitoring data using PeopleSoft or similar ERP system, and analyzing data to prepare reports and recommend appropriate action as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, monitors, and tracks the movement of material through the production cycle using PeopleSoft, SAP, or similar ERP system
• Monitors and reviews parts usage and requirements to ensure inventory control levels are met consistently
• Collaborates with Purchasing to ensure that materials or parts ordered are cost effective, high quality, and available when needed
• Collaborates with Document department to ensure that Change Control Notifications (CCN’s) reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding part numbers or other material modifications
• Ensures that target reclaim Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) are prepared accurately and on-time; provides reclaim documentation for the Finance department
• Responds to requests for parts or materials from other departments when needed
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of hands-on experience working as a Material Handler or Scheduler in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Experience using an ERP system such as PeopleSoft or SAP
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

• Knowledge and ability to plan, schedule, track, and monitor various types of materials or parts to ensure that inventory levels are met consistently

Working Conditions

The Material Planner works primarily in an office environment from Monday to Friday. The schedule may occasionally be altered to meet business or operational needs; may require travel between buildings. May be exposed to a variety of physical conditions such as fumes, chemicals, odors, dust, gases, or have close proximity to mechanical/moving parts. The role involves standing, sitting, walking, fine grasping movements, bending, and twisting. Operates a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 30 or more pounds.

Pay

The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $92,929.95 and $136,661.39, plus bonus target and benefits. Individual pay within this range may differ based on job responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience.
