Job Summary
Responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the Materials Management department.
Job Description
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: (None)
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- At least five (5) years Materials Management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- At least one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Principal Accountabilities
- Maintains and monitors inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
- Manages Materials Management department personnel: conducting performance evaluations, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and terminating as necessary.
- Direct and coordinate activities of the department.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staffs and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
