MATERIAL MAN (1ST 1000 HRS) -

About the role

As an Ingalls Material Man, you perform a variety of tasks in connection with the receipt, storage, and issuance of storeroom electrical materials. Your work supports the daily operations of America's most advanced naval shipyard, ensuring the smooth flow of materials essential to shipbuilding.

Responsibilities

• Receipt of inventory using the system of records
• Storage and organization of electrical materials
• Issuance of inventory to support shipbuilding operations
• Perform inventory management reconciliation
• Work in an active shipyard environment, which may include varying conditions, heights, and warehouses
• Maintain safety practices that meet or exceed industry standards
• Kit and validate electrical material of all types in accordance with established supply systems, procedures, and methods

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of material handling or related shipyard experience
• Proven experience in material management
• Basic to advanced computer skills
• Knowledge and management of inventory control systems
• Commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork

Preferred Skills

• Forklift operation
• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
• Warehousing/IPS skills

Pay

Earn up to $32.45 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Opportunities for overtime and long-term advancement are available.
