Material Handling Service Operations Supervisor (Shop & Field)
About the Role
A day in this role starts on the floor with technicians—facilitating daily performance huddles, walking Gemba, and modeling leader standard work. You'll review safety, quality, delivery, and cost dashboards, clear obstacles, dispatch work orders, and balance assignments across shop and field teams. You'll approve timesheets and work orders, ensure accurate service records and parts usage, and maintain van appearance and inventory standards. Visiting customer sites, supporting technicians on complex calls, and confirming quality follow-ups are part of your routine. In the afternoon, you'll moderate team meetings to gather technician feedback, escalate roadblocks, and realign priorities. You'll verify preventive maintenance completion, plan staffing coverage, and wrap up the day with coaching, performance feedback, and development planning for your team.
