Material Handler - Wendell, NC

About the role

Siemens’ Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit is seeking a Material Handler for its Shipping Team in Wendell, NC. The role involves the efficient movement of materials, including receiving, shipping, storage, picking, delivery, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate stand‑up reach trucks, order pickers, and sit‑down forklifts in high‑traffic areas and narrow aisles.
• Unload and receive production materials and record them in SAP.
• Count and verify incoming materials in the storeroom.
• Pick materials for internal and external customers using RF scanners with accuracy.
• Efficiently pack and ship materials damage‑free, load outgoing shipments, and provide proper documentation to drivers.
• Use small hand tools, including battery, electrical, and air‑powered tools.
• Adhere to all safety rules, follow established processes, and actively seek improvement opportunities.
• Work independently with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years’ experience in material management (warehousing).
• 2+ years’ experience driving a forklift, order picker, and stand‑up reach truck.
• Ability to lift parts or sub‑assemblies up to 50 lb.
• Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer‑sponsored visa.
• Preferred: Experience with SAP system.
• Preferred: Experience with RF scanner devices.
• Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Pay

Hourly rate: $19.00. The actual wage may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

Schedule

Shift hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm.
