Material Handler-Tugger 1st Shift

About the role

The Material Handler-Tugger 1st Shift position is available at Cornerstone Building Brands, a leading manufacturer of exterior building products. The role is full-time and operates on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Hand load windows and doors onto trailers according to manifest and safety standards
• Unload windows and doors and stage in correct locations on dock according to safety standards
• Utilize tugger to pull windows and doors from production lines and place carts in proper staging lanes
• Scan windows to correct staging lane upon delivery
• Ability to load or unload trailers at rate of 150 cubic feet per hour or greater
• Willing and able to train new hires on all aspects of loading/unloading trailers consistent with safety standards
• Present T2 board, understanding metrics and issues to convey to the team (and T4 group if needed)
• Display capability to troubleshoot issues that occur on the dock (missing material, quality concerns, etc.)
• Act as backup to dock lead when required, including completing load audits, closing manifests per standard work, updating PV&A board, and other tasks as assigned
• Adhere to and display examples of Cornerstone Core Values
• Participate in safety culture, including adherence to STOP, CALL, WAIT, through hazard recognition/elimination and completion of at least 2 BBS audits per period
• Adhere to and support departmental 5S initiatives
• Adhere to Cornerstone attendance guidelines – No written warnings (attendance or performance)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• A minimum of one (1) year forklift operation experience
• Overhead crane experience a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
