Material Handler - 1st Shift

About the role

This position involves working safely at all times, adhering to Pratt Industries' safety rules and participating in the Plant Safety Committee. Responsibilities include following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ensuring quality control, and performing various tasks across different departments.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and be aware of surroundings
• Participate in Plant Safety Committee
• Follow GMPs and quality procedures
• Stop and catch poor quality before it leaves the facility
• Perform general duties and varied projects
• Housekeep and clean work areas
• Maintain accurate records of moved units for inventory accuracy
• Perform basic forklift maintenance and housekeeping
• Comply with company policies and adhere to production schedule
• Work overtime as necessary, including on holidays

Requirements

• Previous Pratt and/or 1 year of forklift operation experience preferred
• Experience with “scanner” or “barcode” systems preferred
• Ability to multi-task, communicate positively, problem solve, read a tape measure, and manage time effectively
• Prior experience in packaging, plastics, paper, converting, warehouse, or manufacturing industries preferred
• Able to read factory masters and apply high school-level math
• Current Lift Truck Operator License required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Pass substance abuse screening
• Attention to detail and control for preventing material damage
