Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Material Handling & Loading Operations
- Safely load and unload bulk tanker trucks, railcars, totes, and drums.
- Packaging, labeling, and preparing finished products according to established specifications.
- Handling and transporting raw materials and chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification required).
- Offloading empty containers and assisting with staging and storage of materials.
- Documentation & Quality Control
- Accurately completing and maintaining required documentation, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Compliance, batch records, and packaging counts.
- Recording process data and maintaining production logs.
- Collecting and managing retain samples for quality testing and storage.
- Ensuring all work meets company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Safety & Compliance
- Adhering to all plant safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
- Properly using and maintaining required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Following established procedures for handling hazardous materials.
- Conducting routine safety audits, inspections, and housekeeping checks of work areas and equipment.
- Immediately reporting safety hazards, incidents, or equipment deficiencies.
- Equipment, Operation & Maintenance
- Performing daily inspections of forklifts and plant equipment.
- Reporting maintenance issues and submitting work requests as needed.
- Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of equipment, including tanks and loading systems.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, including loading zones and processing equipment.
- Process Improvement & Operations Support
- Supporting plant operations through general labor and cross-functional assistance.
- Collaborating with supervisors and team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Assisting with troubleshooting operational issues and improving workflow efficiency.
- Communicating effectively across shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
- Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain within 14–30 days of hire).
- Ability to safely handle chemicals and operate basic plant equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand and remain active for 60–90% of the shift.
- Capable of working in physically demanding conditions, including:
- Confined spaces
- Elevated platforms and ladders
- Hot, dusty, and variable indoor/outdoor environments
- Ability to perform tasks such as bending, climbing, sweeping, and shoveling.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and plant environments.
