About the role
The Material Handler position is tailored for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse by handling various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to team efforts to meet department goals and ensure the accuracy of all processes;
- Handle the receipt, stocking, and transfer of products, including inbound receipts, managing product movement, and preparing goods for delivery;
- Operate manual and material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, RF scanners) to move products safely and efficiently within the warehouse;
- Perform tasks such as organizing materials, managing stock, unloading/loading shipments, and assisting in the warehouse as needed;
- Safely handle products, especially delicate items like garments or shoes, ensuring their proper condition and placement;
- Adhere to and meet department productivity standards, including following the Tory Burch Safety Standards and Code of Conduct;
- Complete other duties, as assigned.
Additional Department Specific Requirements
- Packing: Prepare products for shipment to customers and stores, ensuring each item is packaged correctly and securely.
- Picking: Pull products from shelves based on customer orders, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging for distribution to various channels.
- Receiving: Ensure accuracy of received shipments and use RF scanners for inbound shipments.
- Replenishment: Coordinate inbound and outbound putaway and replenishment of stock and ensure accurate product placement.
- Returns: Inspect and process returned items, determine whether they can be restocked, prepare for restocking, and accurately input data regarding the return.
- Loading: Ensure outbound shipments are accurate, and product is prepared, loaded, moved and staged as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of six months of related experience in a distribution environment;
- High school diploma or GED;
- Experience in utilizing various types of warehouse equipment is a plus;
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours daily;
- Ability to lift to 35 lbs;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and SOP documents;
- Basic math skills to understand location quantities, thresholds and capacity;
- Manhattan Associates WMS knowledge preferred;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within the distribution center;
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to be consistent when entering information repetitively;
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
