About the role
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to support our manufacturing operations. This hands-on position is responsible for receiving, unloading, storing, moving, and issuing materials to support production while maintaining inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming raw materials, including Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions accurately within the ERP system.
- Deliver materials to production areas as needed to support manufacturing schedules.
- Maintain MRD cards and update due dates for received materials.
- Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory management practices.
- Process and manage Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) and Non-Conforming Notices (NCNs).
- Support third-party order processing, including Bill of Lading (BOL) preparation, purchase order entry, part tracking, receiving, shipping, freight coordination, and supplier communication.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve material and delivery issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing MRD, Kanban, ARC, and in-line replenishment principles.
- Participate in cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with warehouse organization and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Utilize computers and handheld scanners to process inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift driver's license.
- Minimum one year of material handling, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred), Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds without restriction.
- Approximately 25–40% of the position requires computer and handheld scanner use.
- Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
