Material Handler, Energy

About the role

As an Energy Warehouse Material Handler, you will maintain inventory at a regional Tesla Energy warehouse, ensuring smooth material flow and inventory accuracy. This role involves receiving, issuing, and organizing materials for maximum efficiency; preparing materials in support of Tesla installation, service, and commercial teams; while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily operations of material flow, including receiving, issuing, and organizing materials to support installation and service schedules; maintain inventory accuracy and drive continuous improvements
• Monitor material needs for scheduled orders, track real-time progress to delivery targets, and adjust manpower as needed
• Review and document inventory counts to ensure accuracy within the warehouse
• Conduct first-level investigations into quality and safety incidents, documenting findings and proposing preventive actions
• Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, and flatbed carts to transport materials to/from receiving and staging areas; prepare outgoing materials using proper packaging methods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following 5S protocols and ensuring proper PPE usage
• Collaborate with Warehouse Managers, Lead Material Handlers, and cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and productivity

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods, up to 12 hours a day
• Frequently and repetitively lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 50 lbs. up and down stairs
• Frequently and repetitively bend, lift, and reach to install vehicle parts
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for various shifts, including days, nights, or weekends as needed

Pay

Expected compensation: $19.55/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
