Material Handler - Pick/Pack/Ship (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities

• Selects the correct size carton based on order.
• Places labels on cartons properly oriented for system scanners.
• Picks and prepares product for shipment, ensuring the correct quantity, ISBN, and type of product.
• Inspects books visually before placing in shipping carton.
• Records the proper adjustments for short shipments on the carton.
• Moves from location to location when work is slow or heavy.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety.
• Enforces established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions, safety rules, and memos.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to learn Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Physical Demands

• Bend, stoop, walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to temperature changes, dust, and working around moving mechanical parts.
• Noisy environment with moderate noise levels.
