Material Handler - Pennsylvania Steel Co., Birmingham, AL - 1st Shift

Main Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform various physical tasks related to work order fulfillment involving order pulling, material handling and packaging.
• Handling various types of metals by hand or via material handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other assignments as directed.

Requirements

• Proficient in Windows based software.
• Working knowledge of decimals and fractions.
• Proficient in measuring via tape measure and micrometers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in an environment with machinery, overhead cranes, and moving equipment.
• Ability to work a full shift on your feet with little stationary time.
• Agility is necessary to climb stairs, ladders, and access forklifts and truck beds.
• Tolerance of temperature extremes encountered both inside and outside an open warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED level education.
