Material Handler - Outside Processing and Driver
About the role
The Material Handler - Outside Processing and Driver is responsible for the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies for the company. This includes coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory transactions, inspections, and deliveries, including driving a company vehicle, while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role will include driving the company vehicle, up to 6-12 hours per week, to make deliveries and pickups from customers and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments from suppliers and vendors
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and damages
- Verify quantities and quality of received items against purchase orders
- Record and report any discrepancies or damages to appropriate parties
- Label, sort, and organize received materials for storage or distribution
- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to customers or other facilities
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using shipping software
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics companies to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Ensure all shipments are accurately labeled and comply with shipping regulations
- Load and unload parts or materials from delivery vehicles
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Driving a company vehicle is an essential function of this position
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record (no recent moving violations or accidents) and in-depth knowledge of road, safety and driving laws
- Ability to perform vehicle safety check as per company SOP and report any and all vehicle defect, mechanical issues, or accidents immediately to management
- Ability to drive a sprinter Van
- 2 or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory, or warehouse operations
- Prior forklift experience and certification preferred
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely weighing up to 50 pounds
- Sit, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (if applicable)
- The primary work environment is in the warehouse, shipping and receiving area which may be noisy, dusty, and exposed to varying temperatures
Pay
The base pay range for this full-time position is $19.33 - $32.84 hourly, non-exempt. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Shift: M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm
