Material Handler- NYK DC
About the Role
The Material Handler is responsible for routine warehouse product organization and material handling, including shipping, receiving, and delivery duties. This role involves unloading finished goods from containers, picking orders, and maintaining an organized yard and warehouse. The Material Handler also supports warehouse areas by shipping and receiving products, loading and unloading product, and operating a company truck as a backup driver for customer deliveries. Additional support may be required in other warehouse and division areas as needed.
This position requires walking 50% of the time, mandatory overtime to complete daily work if necessary, and possible weekend work. The schedule is 1st shift (hours to be determined).
Responsibilities
- Receive daily orders pick list, pull orders, and load quartz slabs on trucks for delivery.
- Unload and load containers in a timely and safe manner.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Assist customers in a friendly manner.
- Maintain and organize warehouse and yard.
- Assist with product order filling as needed.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Demonstrate the ability to think independently and work with technical and industry personnel.
- Perform warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions.
- Safely drive a forklift.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Clear driving record.
- 1+ years of similar warehouse experience.
- Technical training or equivalent experience (minimum 2 years of relevant work experience).
- Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and documentation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated competency in the use of hand tools and other industry-related equipment.
- Ability to read drawings and work to written procedures.
- Ability to operate a forklift (forklift certification preferred).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Experience with scanners, forklifts, teamwork, and following safety protocols.
Working Conditions
- May require extended work hours.
- Work in hot and cold temperatures within a warehouse environment.
- Close proximity to other teammates.

- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Pay
The base rate for this role is between $18–$22 per hour, including team result-based performance bonus opportunities.
