About the role
The Material Handler moves supplies throughout the plant, ensuring raw materials are delivered to production lines, organizing work areas, and staging finished products as directed by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Utilize powered industrial trucks to transport raw materials to production lines and stage finished products.
- Track and sort inventory while loading trailers for outbound shipment, ensuring accuracy of materials entering and exiting the production facility.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain organized records.
- Relieve production staff as assigned and trained.
- Perform all tasks with a safety-first mentality and apply IPS lean manufacturing skills.
- Carry out additional tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience, including previous powered industrial truck experience.
- Licensed for Powered Industrial Truck usage under IPG protocols.
- Ability to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills, math skills, and English written communication skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs continuously.
- Ability to consistently lift arms and work within a full range of arm motion.
