Schedule
6:45 PM to 7:00 AM on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule.
Pay
$21.50–$24.00 per hour.
About the role
The Material Handler, under the direction of the Production Shift Supervisor, stages and moves raw materials and finished products within the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
- Inspect forklift daily, change propane tanks as needed, and safely operate forklift.
- Ensure extrusion operators and production assistants obtain needed supplies and materials in a timely manner (e.g., capping, dunnage boards, boxes, scrap bins).
- Assist in wrapping and banding finished material and moving it to the storage area on occasion.
- Scan completed material rack before transporting to designated storage area.
- Assist in loading regrind into silos or bags as directed.
- Assist in the operation and general maintenance of grinders as requested.
- Provide production support in the staging of bins, skids, and raw materials.
- Assist in recycling of cardboard and other waste products.
- Assist the Receiving Department in loading and unloading of trucks.
- Observe and document silo readings to ensure appropriate amount of material is available for daily production.
- Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech’s Training Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program.
- Forklift certification.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Work schedule flexibility, with advance notice, to accommodate business needs.
