About the Role

Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. May maintain records. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area, process, or method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading trucks and stacking pallets (under 25 lbs, some weigh less than 5 lbs)
  • Verifying labels on boxes and matching them to pallets
  • Scanning items as required
  • Operating stand-up forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Performing tasks in a metrics-driven environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Zero (0) to one (1) year of warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
  • Stand-up forklift experience
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications as needed
  • Basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)

Skills

  • Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • General computer skills
  • Attention to detail

Pay

$16–20/hour

Schedule

  • 12-month contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

  • Lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs may be required
  • Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles
  • Work environment can be hot in summer (no AC) and cold in winter (limited heating)
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
