Material Handler (Must Have Forklift and Pallet Jack Exp)
Location: Woburn, MA • 3-month contract (potential to convert to full-time) • 1st shift: 7 AM – 4 PM • 40 hours/week • Pay range: $16–$20/hour
About the role
Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. May maintain records. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area/process/method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Unload trucks and stack pallets (mainly under 25 lbs; some items weigh less than 5 lbs)
- Verify labels on boxes and match them to pallets
- Scan items as required
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications
Requirements
- Zero to one year of warehouse or related experience and/or training
- Stand-up forklift and pallet jack experience (certification highly preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, JDE, etc.) highly preferred
- Basic skills training in material handling, logistics, or manufacturing production
- Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents in English and perform basic math calculations
- Effective communication skills at a level coworkers and supervisors can understand
- Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment
- General computer skills
