Material Handler Lead

About the role

Under limited supervision, you will handle and maintain the flow of materials and products on the premises according to established guidelines. You will physically manage materials used to construct components and finished products to optimize movement, including lifting, carrying, and stacking items as needed.

You will record the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies, verify the accuracy of work performed by yourself and other material handlers, and operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training.

Additionally, you will plan and assign work tasks to Material Handlers to meet production goals, and train employees in required tasks, including handling techniques, use of machinery, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and four (4) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
• May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
