Material Handler II
Job Summary and Qualifications
The Material Handler II is responsible for providing the highest level of accuracy and efficiency within each aspect of material flow. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving product, stocking/replenishment, stock rotation, product picking, routing completed orders to the appropriate sortation area, performing quality inspections, cycle counting, putting away returns, pulling expired product, sorting and processing mail, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Utilization of computers and other technology is required. Performance consistent with guidelines established by the Director of Distribution Operations for the Consolidated Services Center supporting Mercy Health System. Adherence to the goals and philosophy of the organization, code of conduct and ethics is required. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Service Standards.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties in a manner that insures inventory accuracy and product quality, including stock rotation and the management of expiration dates and lot codes as required, throughout the operation.
- Verifies products, quantities, and insures label integrity.
- Provides notification of item maintenance, including updating aliases and Load Unit of Measure, when required.
- Actual accuracy performance consistent with established standards for Materials Handler II and/or cross trained and proficient in multiple areas (Inbound: receiving, sorting, unloading, put-aways, replenishing, sorting and processing mail. Outbound: picking, sorting, staging, and loading, Inventory Control: cycle counting, product inspections, pulling expired products, return put-away, & vendor return support).
- Consistently produces work volumes relative to established standards for a Materials Handler II.
- Knowledge and experience with lot controlled and expiration dates product handling.
- Knowledge of products and procedures relative to job duties.
Requirements
- High School Graduate/Equivalent Required
- 1+ year(s) of experience in a similar role Required
- Must be able to manage multiple, complex instructions simultaneously. Required
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely and repetitively lift and carry a 50-pound load as exhibited during a post-offer functional capacity testing process. Required
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System), computers and keyboard proficiency Required
- Effectively practices and promotes teamwork in all duties. Actions are consistent with objectives and goals for department and overall organization. Remember that patients are at the end of our supply chain. Required
