Material Handler II
Job Summary
The Material Handler II is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, counting, tracking, issuing, and shipping a variety of production parts, materials, and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time to meet on-time-delivery goals.
About the Role
Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. You'll find Crane Aerospace & Electronics in some of the toughest environments: from engines to landing gear; from satellites to medical implants and from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.
- Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts as needed.
- Perform root cause investigation on variances in cycle counts.
- Move materials to and from receiving, production areas and shipping by hand, using sorting bins and carts, or other equipment.
- Consult with others (i.e., supervisors, buyer planners, etc.) to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Unpack, receive, and stock materials into storeroom location(s); Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirements.
- Respond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely manner.
- Aid and/or Backfill coworkers, as needed to complete daily tasks.
- Change part stocking methods to better facilitate production needs.
- Avoid non-compliance with export compliance rules.
- Aid in training new employees and cross-training other materials associates.
- Able to support more than one value stream.
- Support other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-6 years of relevant manufacturing experience; Previous experience working with manufacturing software tools.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Familiar with lean principles; Understanding of continuous improvement tools.
- Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Demonstrated ability to solve routine problems; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS Office.
- Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledgeable in the use of Microscopes.

Pay
$25.18/hr. - $31.59/hr. (Salary range)
