MATERIAL HANDLER II - 1ST SHIFT (DAYS)

About the role

Join Dal-Tile, the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States and a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. We are seeking an expert Material Handler to operate equipment in our distribution center, including Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, and Electric Pallet Jack.

The primary objective is to operate powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey them to the packing station or shipping area.

Responsibilities

• Operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Use order picker equipment or stand-up forklift to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
• Key orders into Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Verify stock availability and audit orders for accuracy.
• Convey picked orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to supervisor.
• Follow standard operating and safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 3 or more years of previous distribution/warehouse experience.
• Minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience.
• Dal-Tile certification to operate powered industrial trucks.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.

• Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with average weight between 40-70 lbs (heavier picks, 50-70 lbs, constitute 65% of the shift; lighter items, 20-40 lbs, constitute 35%).
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and a wide range of temperatures.
• Noise level is usually loud.
