About the role

Apogee Architectural Metals, a segment of Apogee Enterprises, Inc., is seeking a Material Handler I to assist in accurately handling inventory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Materials team works together to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation
  • Understand warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory
  • Handle discrepancies in orders or inventory using basic problem-solving skills
  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Perform basic computer functions related to data entry
  • Utilize strong organizational skills for efficient space utilization and inventory management
  • Lift, move, and handle materials safely
  • Be cross-trained and able to support all Material Handler I roles

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Operation of basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks)
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures)
  • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.)
  • Ability to follow blueprints
  • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry)

Work Environment
