What does a Material Handler do?

The Material Handler-Forklift Driver is an essential part of the production operations team at the PAC manufacturing plant. In this role, you will utilize a sit-down forklift to move raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse. You will also be responsible for performing operational safety checks of the forklift before and after every shift. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate a forklift in a fast-paced environment, staging materials at critical locations and removing material at the end of the production line. You will work as part of a large warehouse team, communicating and collaborating with others to ensure that PAC's products are manufactured efficiently and safely shipped to customers worldwide.

Qualifications Required

  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency
  • Experience working in manufacturing or distribution centers
  • Sit-down forklift experience
  • Safe forklift operation while observing all safety rules, utilizing horns, and maintaining proper speeds
  • Ability to complete daily forklift pre-inspection sheet before operating the equipment
  • Satisfactory completion of internal forklift training program
  • Detail oriented with good organization and time management skills
  • Able to work 8-hour shifts with mandatory overtime, including weekends and absenteeism coverage
  • Willing to train in other areas of the plant
  • Follows the direction of Supervisors; follows all procedures
  • Able to prioritize tasks and display a sense of urgency
  • Scans materials in D365 to properly maintain inventory levels
  • Stages all raw materials for orders at production equipment in a timely manner
  • Stretch wraps and stages completed pallets of product correctly
  • Removes all trash from the departments and places in proper container
  • Maintains a clean and organized raw material warehouse
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary
