Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Overtime and weekend shifts as needed
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
About the Role
The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, and handling products and materials in a structured work environment to minimize safety risks. Material Handlers must be reliable and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
Responsibilities
- Identify, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of products and materials
- Operate forklifts, handcarts, or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle, and load/unload orders
- Maintain inventory levels as directed
- Feed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision or line leads
- Ship and receive materials throughout the duration of the shift
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner
- Count, weigh, and record numbers of units or materials moved or handled
- Ensure product moved is identified and labeled correctly
- Perform required housekeeping to maintain 5S standards (e.g., sweeping floors, disposing of trash, picking up stray product)
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of GMPs or willingness to learn
- Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days
- Ability to operate stand-up and extended forklifts
- Sufficient math skills
- Ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to read and write in English preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Previous material handling experience a plus (varies by location)
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
- Team-based setting requiring respectful and professional communication
- Must be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, including across shifts
Physical Requirements
- Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 90 lbs assisted and 40 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand up to 80% of the scheduled time
- Ability to walk, climb, and/or balance throughout the shift
