MATERIAL HANDLER I 2nd Shift

About the role

We are seeking an eager and motivated entry-level material handler to perform a variety of warehouse duties, including order picking, inventory management, receiving, and facility maintenance. This role operates powered industrial trucks and ensures a safe, organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey them to packing or shipping areas.
• Perform warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy, conducting inventory stock checks, restocking, and labeling products.
• Handle receiving duties, including unloading inbound material, processing shipments, stocking material, and managing customer returns.
• Operate forklift and order picker equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility through sweeping, trash removal, restroom upkeep, and general office maintenance.
• Uphold a safe working environment by following all safety rules and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1-year Sit-Down Forklift Operator experience required.
• 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with 65% of the shift involving heavier items (50-70 lbs) and 35% involving lighter items (20-40 lbs).
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
• Good oral and written communication skills, record-keeping skills, and listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability and ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Must work in a safe and conscientious manner.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
• Loud noise levels are typical.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Entry Rate: $18.54 per hour, increasing to $19.66 after 3 months. Additional $0.50 shift differential for 2nd shift.

Schedule

2nd shift: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM.
