Material Handler/General Laborer

About the Role

The Material Handler position is varied in scope and may include additional general work tasks beyond the specific job description. Duties can change throughout the day based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Feldmeier safety and company policies, as well as Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
• Follow supervisor instructions to perform various physical duties.
• Assist welders, grinders, and other workers on-site.
• Assist with offloading and loading trucks as needed.
• Move, secure, install, build, load, or unload materials.
• Move tools, equipment, or other materials as directed by a supervisor.
• Set up and operate equipment for assigned jobs.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Clean worksites by removing debris, trash, and machinery to maintain a safe environment.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Transportation to and from work.
• Previous experience operating a forklift safely.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Continual use of hands for pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, moving, and maintaining 20 pounds constantly with full range of motion, including above head, below feet, and side to side.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and platforms for elevated work.
• Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, balancing, stooping, lying down inside or under vessels, and twisting while performing required tasks.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery, including a forklift.

Schedule

• Day shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:15 PM
• Night shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:45 AM
• Overtime available.

Pay

$22–$31.50 per hour.
